Immatriculation - registering your sports or classic car in France...
As professional members of the F.F.V.E. (Fédération Française des Véhicules d'Epoque) we can help you to register your vehicle in France, taking care of all paperwork and processes. Our experience in registering 'collection' sports and classic cars over 30 years old and even complex 'non conformity' marques, means we can save you a great deal of time and money in your quest to own your dream car in France.
There are three scenarios that apply to registering a car in France and at Cross Channel Sports Cars (CCSC) we have experience in all three processes.
1: CONFORMATIVE VEHICLE REGISTRATION (IMMATRICULATION)
Sports cars manufactured to EU specifications, can be sourced in the UK and registered in France providing all paperwork is authenticated and in place. The system although complex can be fast-tracked and CCSC ensure all cars offered for sale have (or are in the process of completing) a Carte Grise and current Controle Technique, allowing you peace of mind and no hassle in the purchase of your sports car.
2: HISTORIC VEHICLE REGISTRATION (IMMATRICULATION)
Cars over 30 years old need a ‘Carte Grise de Collection’ this involves a different registration process and CCSC specialise in preparing and guiding cars through the system, both for our own portfolio and as a service for classic car owners.
3: SPECIALIST VEHICLE REGISTRATION (IMMATRICULATION)
The French system is not friendly towards cars that do not conform! In fact if you read the forums you would give up immediately. However for cars such as Caterhams and other non-conformity marques, it is possible to get through the process, provided certain key factors are considered from the outset. CCSC can source cars that meet the incredibly strict criteria and take them through the lengthy process, for the truly discerning enthusiast.
So if you are interested in buying one of our classic cars or need help with your existing classic car here in France, then please call +33 (0)5 63 94 58 31 or click here to send an email.
