MGC GT 1968 (LHD) - Overdrive, Webasto

Price: € P.O.A.

  • Year: February 1968
  • Kilometers: 34,000 miles
  • Exterior: Grampian Grey
  • Interior: Dark red, black piping
  • Engine: 3.0L (6 cylinders)
  • Transmission: 4 + Overdrive
  • Seats: 2
  • Steering: LHD

This rare six cylinder MGC GT underwent a ‘bare-metal’ professional restoration in 2017 and looks very impressive in ‘Grampian Grey’ with a dark red leather interior, silver wire wheels and full length sliding sunroof.
The 3.0L, six-cylinder engine was also professionally rebuilt and benefitted from a complete strip-down. The block was chemically cleaned and rebored with new liners fitted to standard size, new camshaft and bearings were fitted, crankshaft reground with new bearings fitted, flywheel lightened and then balanced. It was then fitted with a new timing chain, seals, gaskets, oil pump and a new clutch assembly. The cylinder head had previously been converted to ‘unleaded’ and fitted with new guides, valves and hardened valve seats, this was stripped, cleaned and reassembled.
Additionally the GT also benefitted from a new radiator, new extra capacity fuel tank, new steering rack and joints, new leather interior, new carpets, refurbished black ‘crinkle’ dashboard, refurbished wire wheels, new tyres and a period radio. There is a history file, detailing invoices just from the restoration amounting to approximately €18,000.
This impressive MGC GT is a pleasure to drive and offers the chance to own a rare and very desirable classic, which is fast appreciating in value.
