MUSTANG Cabriolet V8 Auto 1966

Price: € Reserved

  • Year: January 1966
  • Kilometers: 85,000 mls
  • Exterior: Lake Tahoe Blue
  • Interior: Aqua
  • Engine: V8 289ci
  • Transmission: Auto
  • Seats: 4

This ‘matching numbers’ V8 Mustang cabriolet, looks stunning with its ‘Lake Tahoe’ turquoise paintwork and ‘Aqua’ interior and trim. Only 3 previous owners, all from San Diego, southern California, it was imported to France in 2018 by the current owner.
Purchased new in January 1966 as a graduation present for a young lady by her father, it was then sold in 1990 and fully restored to a high standard over the next 2 years and sold again in the late 90’s. It then covered less than 1,000 miles during the next 20 years and was latterly recommissioned with new upholstery and repainted in its original colour.
Showing only 85,000 miles (which looks correct based on the history file) it retains all its original specification, which includes a black electric hood with split-glass rear window, Rostyle wheels, red hubs and white-walled tyres.

The Mustang is in very good condition, with no corrosion (thanks to spending its life in sunny climates) and has recently had the front brakes converted to discs with a servo and a new master cylinder. Additionally new rear springs and dampers have been fitted along with numerous other parts, amounting to over €6,500 of recent expenditure.
The V8 289ci engine (C code) has been tuned by a local Mustang specialist and drives very well and the classic Ford V8 exhaust note is guaranteed to bring a smile to every enthusiasts face!
