Last of the genuine ‘chrome-bumper’ MGB GT’s this impressive example in Damask Red, has been extremely well maintained and is in excellent condition and benefits from a ‘Webasto’ sliding sunroof and ‘Rostyle’ wheels.
The engine was completely rebuilt in 2000 with many new parts and components. The cylinder head has recently been serviced and enjoys good compression. It has electronic ignition, K&N air filters and an adjustable Kenlow fan for added cooling efficiency.
Although an older restoration the paintwork is in good condition with a few blemishes, the panel gaps are excellent and there are no signs of corrosion, the car was ‘waxoyled’ when new. There is no corrosion under the car and the sills, floors and ‘castle-rails’ are also in excellent condition.
It has recently received new rear springs and bushes and the front and rear brakes have been updated with new cylinders, discs and pads. Additionally the clutch slave and master cylinders have been replaced along with the brake master cylinder and ’Servo’ unit.
The interior is very impressive, with Mazda MX5 seats for added comfort and style, along with wood effect dashboard and centre console, wooden ‘Moto-Lita’ steering wheel, radio/CD, new carpets with sound deadening and a wind deflector for the sunroof.
